One of the most difficult things for writers to do is to write productively when there hasn’t been any direct sunlight in view for days or weeks on end. Except for a few hours here and there, November 2018 was the cloudiest November on record in Toronto and December is shaping up the same way. Working on another interesting story in the Alexei Rector-Michael Bishop world of covert operations is an effort of pure will when the view out of the window in front of my desk is relentlessly dank and gloomy.
